Our first-world society has a very feminine view of masculinity, one which has sadly tainted my view of it. Today I was reminded that true masculinity is much more bold, dangerous, and wild than my feminine little heart thinks is safe. But it's not supposed to be safe. Part of the image of God that men bear is the strong warrior God, and God is not safe, but He is good. So that's how it's possible for something, like masculinity, to be dangerous and yet to have no fear.
*However, the Lord we are supposed to fear; for, unlike any man, God can destroy the soul.
