Learning Mah Machine

My parents got me a sewing machine for my birthday and it finally arrived in the mail today. Half the day, I've been reading the manual and watching the instructional DVD and then finally actually experimenting with all the stitches (there are 100 of them!). The biggest thing I've learned from all the book learning and practical experience is correct thread tension is vital for it to work properly. It's not exactly easy finding said correction tension for stitch/fabric combo, but thankfully the learning curve hasn't dampened any of my excitement.
